Our training manager Pauline reveals the secrets of the active ingredient that has become a must-have in dermocosmetics: glycolic acid.
Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), which means it's of natural origin, often extracted from sugar cane. It's a very powerful exfoliating acid with the ability to easily penetrate the skin due to its small molecule.
It is widely used in skincare for its effectiveness in removing dead cells, stimulating cell renewal and improving skin texture.

Glycolic acid has many benefits for the skin. Primarily, it helps to gently exfoliate, brighten the complexion, diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improve skin texture by making it smoother.
It can also benefit acne-prone skin by unclogging pores and reducing inflammation.
Glycolic acid works by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells on the surface of the epidermis, facilitating their removal. The result is more youthful, luminous and even-toned skin. This process also stimulates cell renewal, resulting in smoother, revitalized skin.
Glycolic acid can benefit many skin types, but is particularly recommended for mature, oily and acne-prone skin.
It can also be useful for dull or uneven-textured skin.
People with sensitive skin should use it with caution, as it can cause irritation. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend a tolerance test before applying any product to the whole face.
It's important to start gradually with low concentrations if you're new to glycolic acid, and gradually increase the frequency of application. It's also important to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day, as glycolic acid can make skin more prone to sun damage.
Products containing glycolic acid are perfectly suitable for daily use if your exposure to the sun is "normal and reasonable", in the case of an active woman in the city for example. We simply recommend complementing your program with sun protection such as SUNLIGHT SCREEN 50+.
However, they should not be used just before intense exposure to the sun.(beach, mountains, prolonged outdoor activities...).
The ENEOMEY laboratory offers several skin care products that incorporate glycolic acid to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve skin texture. We have STIM RENEW, STIM RENEW 8,15 and 30 night care products: 3 products for 3 glycolic acid percentages. The choice of AHA percentage depends on skin type, tolerance and indication. Opting for a higher-dosage product will not necessarily be more effective, and may sensitize the skin.
We have three different percentages of glycolic acid to meet the skin's needs. The anti-aging promise that follows women throughout their lives.
STIM RENEW 8, at 8%, glycolic acid is suitable for skin unaccustomed to AHAs, and is designed to prevent the first signs of aging by gently exfoliating and eliminating superficial dead cells.
STIM RENEW 15, 15% glycolic acid, is suitable for all skin types, ideally AHA-tolerant skin. It is designed to stimulate cell renewal in a more pronounced way, acting on both the superficial and slightly deeper layers of the epidermis.
STIM RENEW 30, 30% glycolic acid, is suitable for mature skin that has been trained to tolerate AHAs. This dosage has a stimulating action in the dermis, acting on the loss of elasticity and firmness, thus regenerating the skin's youthful capital. This at-home training can be likened to a superficial chemical peel.
Drawing on 30 years of expertise in professional peels, the ENEOMEY laboratory has fine-tuned the concentration of AHA active ingredients to formulate skin care products with up to 30% glycolic acid, while respecting the skin's balance.
ENEOMEY products are distinguished by their formulation, which combines glycolic acid with soothing and repairing ingredients to limit the risk of irritation while delivering visible results.
